Bhediya box office day one earnings at 7.48 crore, Drishyam 2 remains the top pick
The first day's box office take for Varun Dhawan's Bhediya was $7.48 crore. It fell short of Drishyam 2, which won viewers' favour last week and continues to be the top option today.
The domestic box office for Varun Dhawan's film Bhediya has seen little growth. The movie, which was helmed by Amar Kaushik, brought in 7.48 crore net on its first day. On day 8, Bhediya was unable to outperform Drishyam 2's revenue. On the eighth day after its release, it made 7.87 crore. Production companies Jio Studios and Maddock Films disclosed Bhediya's day one global gross in a press release on Saturday. The message said, "On Friday, day one, Bhediya's global box office debut brought in $12.06 crores. As a result of rave reviews and word-of-mouth, the movie saw significant growth by Friday evening, displaying a fantastic upward trend with Saturday morning shows already showing an average growth of 45% over Friday morning." On Saturday, Taran Adarsh, a cinema trade expert, shared a poster for the movie with Varun. He tweeted and provided a different box office total "Despite positive word of mouth, Bhediya's Day 1 opening performance is considerably below average. reported higher occupancy for evening/nighttime performances, which provides it a chance to gain traction... Day 2 and Day 3 are where Biz (company) has to grow to reach a respectable weekend total. 7.48 cr. Indian business on Friday." Bhediya centres on Bhaskar (Varun), a werewolf who is bitten by a mythological wolf and who, as a result, changes into one on every full moon night. Kriti Sanon, Deepak Dobriyal, and Abhishek Banerjee are also featured in the movie. Dinesh Vijan is the producer of the horror comedy. Jio Studios and Vijan's Maddock Films are in charge of presenting it. The Bhediya review in the Hindustan Times stated, "Varun Dhawan is in great shape and controls every frame. He has literally gone outside the box by experimenting in a different genre and looking so good doing it. His sequences in which he changes from a man to a wolf are both beautiful and terrifying, and his ripped muscles and chiselled torso will give you the chills. He is excellent in both serious and comedic settings. Although Kriti Sanon gives a respectable performance, I believe her character might have benefited from additional depth and a more prominent position in the story."
