“Bowel Babe” Deborah James Died At 40, “An Inspiration” To Many; Heroic £6.7M Fundraising For Cancer Research

Cancer campaigner and podcast host Dame Deborah James also known as “Bowel Babe” died at the age of 40 after 5-years long battle with bowel cancer on Tuesday, 28 June. She was survived by her loving husband, Sebastian Bowen, and their children, 14-year-old Hugo and Eloise, 12.

She has raised a heroic £6.7m fundraising for cancer research through her “JustGiving” page and another £ 1 million through her “In The Style” range.

In a statement, her family said ‘she was an inspiration and we are proud of her”. The UK President Boris Johnson as well expressed his condolences and gratitude towards her selflessness work.

“I’m terribly saddened to hear that Dame Deborah James has died. What an inspiration she was to so many”. He added, “The awareness she brought to bowel cancer and the research her campaigning has funded will be her enduring legacy. Because of her, many many lives will be saved”.
