Ayan Mukerji Initially Wanted To Reveal Dev’s Face in Brahmastra

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, the magnum opus of Ayan Mukherji, was released last month and immediately became a box office smash. The movie rang the cash registers for about three weeks and collected more than 250 crores (domestic) at the ticket counters.

Long after Baahubali, the epic fantasy starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, which ended with the introduction of a new, enigmatic figure named Dev, has remained a topic of chai talk in India. The character was only ever depicted as a mysterious, faceless antagonist in the movie.

The potential identity of Dev is already the subject of fan hypotheses on the internet. The character will be revealed in Brahmastra Part Two: Dev, which is interesting. Filmmaker Ayan Mukherji now reveals about Dev’s off-screen name and the trilogy’s schedule as the movie is expected to be released in 2024.
The discourse, the vision, and the actor for Part Two Dev were well developed by approximately 2019, the director claimed in an interview with Hindustan Times. At one point while filming Part One, we actually had the time to begin pursuing the entire Dev idea.

Part Two will bring the genuine Brahmastra narrative to life through battle. In terms of Dev, I’ll take a risk and say that he’s arguably the most interesting role I’ve ever had in my career. I hope that the stars will align for us in the upcoming three years so that we may be able to deliver you guys what we have planned for this. I am incredibly excited about Dev’s potential.

Although the actor’s identity is not disclosed in the first instalment, Ayan Mukherji originally planned to do so in Brahmastra 1. To be really honest, for a very long time, he claimed, the movie was going to finish with even Dev’s character’s face being revealed. We concluded the movie where we did after giving it a lot of thought and hoping to spark some interest in the viewers’ minds.
