The 23-year-old Tulika Maan won the silver medal for India on Wednesday in Judo in the women’s +78 kg category after going down to Scotland’s Sarah Adlington in the Final. And beating Sydnee Andrews of New Zealand in the semi-finals to assure herself of at least a silver medal in Commonwealth Games, Birmingham.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated her on winning the silver medal on Twitter. “Tulika Maan shines at the Birmingham games! Congratulations to her on winning the Silver medal in Judo. This medal is yet another accolade in her distinguished sporting career. Wishing her the very best for her upcoming endeavours”.
Indian judoka Tulika Maan is a multiple gold medallist in senior national in India. Maan is also a junior national silver medallist in India. Since 2019 Tulika competes in the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Tour. She won bronze at the Asian Open in Taipei.
