The mother of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Paola Maino, passed away on Saturday at her residence in Italy, and her funeral was held on Sunday, the Congress announced on Wednesday.
Sonia Gandhi left on August 23 to visit her ill, 90-year-old mother.
