Prior to the WHO’s approval of Covaxin, about 16 nations had accepted the vaccine as a means of permitting vaccinated Indian travelers to enter their country. Following the WHO’s approval, numerous nations, including the United Kingdom and Canada, are examining Covaxin and may recognize it in the following days. According to officials, the United Kingdom — one of the most popular destinations for Indians — is anticipated to recognize Covaxin soon.
Foreign visitors would be let in on non-chartered flights starting in mid-November, but exorbitant rates will be a hurdle to the resumption of inbound travel to India. From Monday, the United States will be open to overseas visitors. “India and the United States have an open sky agreement (meaning there are no restrictions on the number of flights Air India and US carriers can fly between the two countries),” the official explained.
