Final Goodbye to the brave hearts with all respect…
Brigadier Lakhwinder Singh Lidder’s wife, Geetika Lidder, and daughter, Aashna Lidder, said their final goodbyes to him this morning at Delhi’s Brar Square Crematorium in dramatic and heart-wrenching moments.
Mrs. Lidder was seen in tears kneeling by the head of her husband’s coffin, which was draped in the national flag and adorned with flowers, according to images posted by news agency ANI.
Aashna Lidder, the Brigadier’s daughter, stood at her mother’s side, holding back tears as she let a handful of rose petals fall through her fingers and onto her father’s casket.
“He raised his children well. We need to wish him well and send him off with a smile. I’m the wife of a military man. It’s a significant setback, to say the least, “After the Brigadier’s funeral, Geetika Lidder told ANI.
“I’ll be seventeen years old when I graduate from high school. So he was with me for 17 years… we’ll remember him fondly. It’s a tragedy that has affected the entire country. My best friend’s father was a hero. Perhaps it was meant to be, and greater things are on the way. He was the driving force behind my success “According to Aashna Lidder
When he and the others boarded the ill-fated Mi17-V5, the Brigadier, who was a key adviser to Gen Rawat, had been accepted for promotion to Major General and was slated to take command of a division.
Gen Bipin Rawat will be laid to rest at the Brar Square Crematorium at 4 p.m. The bodies of the General and his wife are currently on display at their Delhi house, where the public can pay their final respects.
