Five Meghalaya Congress MLAs will Return Back to the Main fold; Erwin Syiem Sutnga

NPP leader Erwin Syiem Sutnga, who formerly served in the Congress, expressed confidence that the five Congress MLAs who joined the MDA government will soon return to the main fold of the party. He claimed that many people are quitting the congress party and that joining another party, it will help the congress emerge stronger in the next assembly elections.

He went on to say that he was shocked that the five congress MLAs, including CLP leader Ampareen Lyngdoh, backed the BJP-aligned MDA government. He believes, however, that the five MLAs will return since they have a larger role to play in the Congress party.

The MDA government has also appointed the five renegade Congress MLAs who joined the MDA government earlier this month to various positions. Meanwhile, it was reported that the CLP leader, who is one of the five MLAs, will be offered the position of State Transport Minister Lamare’s replacement.

While commenting about her support for the MDA government, the CLP leader Ampareen Lyndoh also stated that she made the decision for the benefit of the people of her constituency, who are currently deprived of various services.

The five breakaway MLAs do not appear to be willing to return to the party in this situation. Sutnga, on the other hand, is hopeful that they will return because they have more important roles to perform here.
