Pratiksha Tondwalkar, a resident of Pune who worked as a floor sweeper in a bank before rising to the position of Assistant General Manager at SBI, provided evidence to support this claim. Pratiksha’s success, nevertheless, did not come overnight; rather, it was the consequence of years of toil and a lot of effort.
Pratiksha reportedly married when she was just 17 years old and divorced when she was only 20. Her inadequate education made it difficult for her to get employment. In order to provide for her family, she began working as a sweeper at SBI.
Despite her difficult circumstances, Pratiksha made the appropriate choice to finish her education and obtain a degree. She was first elevated to “Safai Karmachari (Sweeper)” and subsequently, after demonstrating her dedication, to “Clerk.” The process did not end there either, as she went on to receive promotions to Scale 4 officer, CGM, and finally AGM. The State Bank of India has also recognised Pratiksha for her remarkable accomplishments as a result of her tenacity, commitment, and earnest labour.
She subsequently paid for her own tuition at a Mumbai night college in Vikhroli, where she graduated with a bachelor’s in psychology in 1995. Pratiksha asserts that her coworkers gave her complete support so that she may pursue her higher education. Pratiksha received a promotion to bank clerk after earning her degree. She has been employed by SBI for many years and is currently the AGM. Currently, Pratiksha is just two years away from retiring after a fruitful 37-year career with SBI.
Pratiksha still has a long way to go even though her time in her current position must end. The AGM completed a naturopathy programme in 2021, and she intends to put her training to work after retiring to assist others. Many people are inspired by Pratiksha’s remarkable tale in a nation where men predominate in the financial sector. Because they must put forth more effort than men do to support their families and advance in their careers, working women frequently become the victims of social injustice. The appreciation for Pratiksha’s accomplishments will remain an inspiration for many.
