Health minister to a chair with a meeting on airport screening and surveillance

According to ANI, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will host a meeting with States on airport screening and surveillance at 10 a.m. today with Airport Public Health Officials (APHOs) and Port Health Officials (PHOs).

Many nations have confirmed cases of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron, which has increased the risk for India as well, as international flights have not yet been banned. As a result, the Union Health Minister convened a meeting today to protect residents’ safety through stringent airport surveillance.

Mansukh Mandaviya will lead a conference with states on airport screening and surveillance in the wake of reports of the Covid Omicron form in other nations.

South Africa was the first to report the new Omnicron version to WHO on November 24.
