The Chief Minister urged the new officers to promise to assist the poor and needy and to reach out to them in order to meet their needs.

Chief Minister of Assam, requests that the engineering entrance exam be held all at once.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, requested that the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) hold an annual Common Engineering Entrance Examination to select engineers for all technical departments at once, with the option of allocating departments to successful candidates through a lottery. At a function held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in this city today, Sarma presented appointment letters to the chosen candidates of the Common Competitive Examination (CCE 2020) and junior engineers of the irrigation department as part of the State government's commitment to providing jobs to educated youth in a transparent and honest manner.

You should know that 655 young people received their appointments. The remaining 331 are for junior engineers in the irrigation department.

According to Sarma, the current administration has been hiring capable young people for a variety of government positions, staying loyal to the State government's pledge to choose deserving applicants for those positions in a transparent and moral manner. "I send my sincere congratulations to all 655 candidates for receiving a government position and joining the system to serve the people," he said. I especially appreciate how transparently the APSC chose the applicants. The Chief Minister asked the APSC to hold a Common Engineering Entrance Examination every year to choose engineers for all technical departments in one go, with the option of holding a lottery to assign departments to the successful candidates. In accordance with the criteria, he also requested from the APSC an option for an interdepartmental transfer. Sarma urged the newly appointed ACS and Allied Service Officers, as well as Junior Engineers, to dedicate their professional lives to serving the state's underprivileged citizens. Additionally, he urged them to develop their abilities so that they could represent the government in many forums and fulfil the ambitions of the state's common citizens. According to Sarma, the current State government has made it a goal to create a new Assam. Therefore, he asked the newly appointed officials to aid the government in accelerating the selection of a new Assam. Additionally, he requested that the new officers serve as change agents and support the government's efforts to promote sociocultural and economic empowerment.Sarma urged the new officers to learn the skill of digitization and other technical gadgetry in order to better serve the people, alluding to the new wave of technology-driven development unleashed in the nation. Dr. Sarma cited the initiatives Vasundhara, Bhumiputra, and others as examples of how the state government has begun focusing on digitization to transform governance to better serve the people. Additionally, he claimed that the past two decades had been "decades of darkness" since the transparent hiring practises of the APSC had been clouded by various scandals. As a result, the administration's credibility was damaged, and the state's rate of development also suffered. However, the APSC and its procedures for holding recruiting exams have been updated under the current administration. As a result, qualified people who are anticipated to significantly contribute to the state's growth narrative are transparently chosen for government posts.
