In the midst of the controversy surrounding the Congress’s contentious post that featured a pair of burning khaki shorts, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a picture of Jawaharlal Nehru wearing shorts on Tuesday. Himanta Biswa remarked while displaying the picture, “Will you fire him also?” However, fact-checkers claim that Nehru may be seen in the picture wearing the Seva Dal outfit, not the RSS khaki.
Following the uproar caused by the Congress’s publication, the image has now surfaced again.
Bit by step, we shall achieve our aim. #BharatJodoYatra, the Congress wrote on Monday, garnering criticism. “To free the country from the chains of hate and erase the devastation done by BJP-RSS.
The RSS said that the Congress wanted to unite people through hatred while the BJP referred to the Bharat Jodo Yatra as the “Aag Lagao Yatra.”
As the photographs of Nehru in shorts have been repeatedly fact-checked, Himanta Biswa’s tweet became widely popular. Earlier, the chief minister of Assam questioned the necessity of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and suggested that the Congress organise its own yatra in Pakistan because India is a unified nation.
