Hyderabad man drowned in Meghalaya; Body retrieved

It’s impossible to predict where fate will lead us. A 23-year-old guy from Hyderabad drowned in a pool in the Sohra area of the East Khasi Hills district on Thursday, according to a senior police officer. He went here to tour the gorgeous hill state.

Pawan Kumar and his companions were swimming at the famed Blue Lagoon pool near Nongriat’s double-decker root-bridge when disaster struck, according to the officer.

It’s a tragedy he came to see this lovely state, but it’s here that he’ll draw his last breath. His body was recovered by his friends with the assistance of Tyrna village residents.

Tourists from all over the world visit Nongriat’s natural pool and root bridges, which are not easily accessible by road. To get to the location, one must walk at least 4,000 steps from Tyrna.

According to the officer, an investigation has been launched into the matter. (PTI)
