IIT Guwahati declared containment zone after 60 positive cases reported
The Indian Institute of Technology’s (IIT) Guwahati campus has been declared a containment zone following the positive testing of 60 students for COVID-19 on January 5, Wednesday.
A government order prohibits anyone from entering or leaving the campus. According to reports, the new guest house on the IIT campus is the epicentre of the outbreak.
It is said that all infected students had returned from their homes and were living on campus. According to reports, all tested positive have had their samples sent for further genome sequencing and most of them have very mild symptoms.
