India lost the Supermom Tigress; The Last Rites Performed Touched Everyone’s Heart
T15 or Collarwali, the famed tigress of Madhya Pradesh’s Pench Tiger Reserve in Chhindwara district who acquired the moniker “super mom” after giving birth to 29 pups, died on Sunday after a long illness, according to officials.
It was a 16-year-old tigress. Mataram, as she was also known, produced 29 cubs in eight litters over the course of 11 years, from 2008 to 2018, according to officials, with 25 of the 29 cubs surviving.

According to Alok Mishra, field director of the Pench Tiger Reserve, the tiger was ill due to old age. She was last seen near Bhura Dev Nullah on January 14. She was lying down and was being observed by a veterinarian. She died at 6.15 pm on Saturday,” he said.

“She was a legendary mother, and she was cremated (on Sunday) by Shanta Bai, a local tribal leader who heads the Ecovikas Samiti and has played a key role in improving tribal living circumstances.”
Her final rites were performed with all the care and affection that any animal should possibly deserve.
Meanwhile, an official with the Indian Forest Service, Parveen Kaswan, offered his condolences for the death of the super tigress and stated that the tigress’s dying rites, which were performed with great care and affection, exemplified Indian culture.
