No nation engages in terrorism as much as Pakistan does: Jaishankar
S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, claimed on Saturday that Pakistan is the only nation that “practises terrorism” in the same manner as India’s western neighbour.
Speaking in Vadodara about “Rising India and the World: Foreign Policy in the Modi Era,” Jaishankar asserted that terrorism is no longer tolerated by the international community.
“Our house has a neighbour. They are experts in “international terrorists,” just as we are in information technology. Years have passed, yet we could inform the public that while terrorism is currently being committed against us, it will also be against you tomorrow “said Jaishankar.
No other nation engages in terrorism in the way that Pakistan has. Show me what Pakistan has been doing against India for so long, anywhere in the globe. We must be clear with ourselves following the 26/11 Mumbai attack that this kind of behaviour and action are wrong and will have repercussions, the minister continued.
Jaishankar attributes the realisation by other nations that terrorism can damage them as well in the future if it is not curbed now to the central administration, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are fairly successful in taking along the world in this fight against terrorism. Earlier, other countries used to ignore this issue thinking it would not affect them because it was happening somewhere else. Today, there is a pressure on those who support terrorism. This is an example of our diplomacy,” Jaishankar said.
