J&K, Ladakh witnessed the coldest night so far with minus 6 & 2.3 degrees

Winter is well on its way to establishing its cold nature as it continues to accelerate up. According to the Met Department, temperatures continued to plummet across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on Saturday, with Srinagar and Jammu registering the coldest nights of the season at minus 6 and 2.3 degrees Celsius, respectively on Friday.

“Srinagar and Jammu had the coldest night of the season so far tonight, with temperatures of minus 6.0 and 2.3 degrees Celsius,” a Department official said. Pahalgam’s minimum temperature was – 8.3 degrees, while Gulmarg’s was negative 8.5 degrees.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperature of the night was – 20.3 in Drass, Ladakh, and minus 15.3 in Leh, according to the official. The minimum temperature was 2.8 degrees in Katra, minus 1.1 degrees in Batote, minus 1.2 degrees in Banihal, and – 2.9 degrees in Bhaderwah.
