The mastermind of the scheme to threaten local journalists and then use their resignations to promote an anti-India narrative is revealed to be Mukhtar Baba, a terror agent supported by Pakistan who had previously worked as a journalist in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mukhtar Baba communicated with six people in Jammu and Kashmir, including two government workers, according to a Times of India report. Baba had attempted to instil panic in the valley by sending out threat messages and then forcing the journalists to resign as a result, all with the help of his allies and with funding from the ISI. An inquiry into the terror plot has been started, and a FIR has been lodged under the UAPA and other pertinent sections of the IPC.
Failed Journalist turned terrorist Mukhtar Baba (TRF) currently in Ankara Turkey along with his ISI handler Jodha Fischer issued a threat list against Kashmir-based Journalists.

No outrage, No Hue and Cry!
Media organisations in India and Abroad have consumed fevicol. Shame!
Noteworthy in this case is the resignation of a number of Kashmir-based journalists after their names were allegedly included on a "hitlist" that was spread across multiple social media platforms. Terrorist organisations The Resistance Front (TRF) and Lashkar-e-Toiba, both supported by Pakistan, have issued the threats (LeT). The kill list included 11 journalists who were labelled as "traitors" and "collaborators."
The Over Ground Workers (OGWs) connected to Mukhtar Baba have reportedly been identified, according to a document received by CNN News 18. The aim of Mukhtar Baba, according to reports, was to influence Kashmir-based journalists to promote Pakistan's narrative of fear and unrest in the Kashmir region.
According to police sources, intelligence analysis based on inputs from Central Intelligence Agencies suggests that Mukhtar Baba frequently travels to Pakistan from Turkey and is responsible for spreading false information and preparing young people in the Valley for terrorism under the guise of The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot (LeT).
In order to flee to Turkey, Mukhtar Baba, who had previously lived in Srinagar's central business district, moved to the Nowgam neighbourhood. On the basis of their contributions, he created a network of insider informants from among the media, from which he compiled the most recent threat list.
