Karan Johar responds to being called ‘Sima Taparia of Bollywood', recalls dad Yash Johar fixed Waheeda Rehman's marriage

In a recent discussion with Twinkle Khanna, filmmaker Karan Johar was referred to as the Sima Taparia of Bollywood. With his show Koffee With Karan, Karan has acted as cupid for a number of celebrity couples and has aided in fostering relationships between people in the business. In response to the moniker offered by Twinkle, Karan explained how even his late father, Yash Johar, acted as Waheeda Rehman's matchmaker. In 1974, Waheeda Rehman wed Kamaljeet. Both fell in love after meeting on the Shagoon (1964) set. Both of her two children, Sohail Rekhi and Kashvi Rekhi, are currently published authors.
