Book by Guwahati Journalist Manoj Goswami is published by Ruskin Bond

At his home in Mussoorie on Sunday, renowned novelist Ruskin Bond officially inaugurated a book written by journalist-author Manoj Kumar Goswami, who is based in Guwahati.

Bond noted that despite social media and other forms of involvement, readers would always value good literature.

The seasoned author asserted, "The circumstances will change, but if a writer is able to tell tales that can forge a connection with the readers, those tales will find readers." Ruskin Bond stated, "I am thrilled to introduce Goswami's book of short stories. I applaud him for his literary and journalistic explorations, which have spanned several decades. I have no doubt that he will get a lot of new readers through this and keep his current ones happy.

He also reflected on his own writing career and expressed his gratitude for being read and respected by so many people over the years.

Manoj Kumar Goswami wrote about the personal problems of Assamese people in his book "Muppet and Other Stories." No matter what their occupations, the people in the novel are constantly faced with a conundrum with the overall topic of mankind. The veil of trust and longing that covers love is torn apart by the grim reality. The narrative alternates between an elderly woman who is contentedly aware of her late husband's darkest secrets and a young man at a bookshop who fantasises about a woman wearing a sky-blue sari and considers starting a new life with her.
