Nityanand Rai, a Union Minister of State for Home, stated in the Rajya Sabha today that eight journalists who operate in Kashmir have received threats from terrorists online and that four of them have reportedly quit their jobs.


According to Mr. Rai, a case has been opened in this regard at the Shergari police station in Srinagar.
"Eight journalists who worked for regional media in Srinagar were reportedly threatened via the terror blog "Kashmir Fight." There have apparently been four media resignations. The media professionals who left belonged to the publication "Rising Kashmir," "In response to a written query, he said.

According to the minister, Jammu and Kashmir now has far better security conditions due to the government's zero-tolerance approach against terrorists.


According to him, the government has taken several measures to safeguard citizens' lives from terrorist threats and attacks, including proactive security measures that keep the police, army, paramilitary, and intelligence agencies stationed throughout Jammu and Kashmir to thwart any threat or attempt from terrorists or their handlers.
