Kejriwal is kingpin but Sisodia is accused no. 1 in liquor scam: Anurag Thakur

Anurag Thakur, senior union minister, claimed on Saturday that Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, is the kingpin of the alleged liquor scam in the nation’s capital, even though Manish Sisodia is the deputy chief minister of Delhi and is the number one accused.

Sisodia was one of 15 people listed as suspects by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday in the alleged Delhi Excise Scam case. In addition to 20 other places in Delhi-NCR, the central agency also conducted raids at Sisodia’s home. The deputy CM’s car was also searched by authorities in addition to his home.

“Manish Sisodia’s press conference today made it quite evident how his face had lost colour as a result of the swindle. At a press briefing, Thakur stated that the man was unable of responding to any inquiries”.

Thakur called Sisodia “Money Shh” because he “makes money and maintains silence” and claimed the AAP is trying to cover up the excise “scam” with other problems.

In a news conference the day after the CBI raided his home, Sisodia referred to the Excise Policy 2021–22 as the “best policy” and denied any allegations of fraud made by the BJP and Congress. Thakur’s comment came shortly after that press conference.

Why did you take the liquor back if your liquor policy was correct, Manish ji? Why do liquor businessmen get a pass? It’s like “chor ki daadhi mei tinka.” … I issue Arvind Kejriwal a 24-hour challenge, and I demand that he respond to me in front of the entire country.
