Launch of 5G services is likely to begin in these 13 Indian cities first

The two major telecom providers, Airtel and Reliance Jio, are set to start the 5G operation later this month, therefore the 5G services are projected to get released in India in August 2022. According to Hindustan Live, “the Indian Government will officially unveil 5G on September 29 at the opening of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC)”.

According to sources, 5G services will roll out in phases, and 13 Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune, have been chosen to receive the superfast internet service.

Reliance Jio’s chairman, Akash M. Ambani, stated in a statement on August 1 that Jio is committed to offering reasonably priced 5G services that will speed up the country’s digital revolution. In the meantime, Bharti Airtel said on Wednesday that it has paid the Telecom Department Rs. 8,312.4 crores in respect of the outstanding balance for the spectrum acquired in the most recent 5G auctions that had just ended.
