Chennai turns 383 today, celebrate Madras Day at Elliot’s Beach

On Saturday, the city of Chennai will celebrate its 383rd birthday with Madras Day festivities at Elliot’s Beach in Besant Nagar. The Confederation of Indian Industry will help organise the festivities (CII). The two-day commemoration event’s entry will open on Saturday at 3:30.

We are hosting an exclusive Chennai night at the Besant Nagar from August 20 to 21, 2022, as part of the Chennai Day celebrations ( 4 pm to 1130 pm). This private event will have roughly 50 stalls, 25 of which will be for food and food-related items, and 25 of which will be for handicrafts, value-added products, etc. Additionally, we will have classic activities, live stage performances, and more, according to a statement from CII.

Traffic advisory for Chennai Day 2022

Details about the traffic diversion surrounding Elliot’s Beach have also been provided by the Greater Chennai Police. Local media in the city reports that:

> Movement of vehicles from 7th Avenue intending to go to 6th Avenue Eliot’s Beach will be diverted along 16th Cross Street towards 2nd Avenue.

> Vehicles coming from 16th Cross Street intending to go towards 6th Avenue will be diverted at the junction of 2nd avenue and 16th Cross Street, DT Next reported.

> Vehicles coming from 4th Main Road and 5th Avenue intending to go to Eliot’s beach will be diverted to a different route to reach their destination.
