Mamata Banerjee stops responding to her corrupt leaders when they need the most; Amit Malviya

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, was lambasted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday for “deserting” her corrupt party leaders when they most needed her. Anubrata Mondal, a key member of the Trinamool Congress, was detained by the CBI in a livestock smuggling case on Thursday after he repeatedly ignored summonses to appear in court. He was presented before a special court, which sentenced him to a 10-day CBI detention.

The arrest comes just a few weeks after the Enforcement Directorate busted another powerful TMC leader in a scheme involving school recruitment.

The Bengal chief minister allegedly stopped answering calls from Mondol and Chatterjee once the central investigative agencies encircled them, according to BJP IT cell director Amit Malviya. Other TMC ministers, employees, and bureaucrats who “colluded with her,” he claimed, “would be abandoned,” as a result. While Trinamool moved quickly to oust Partha as minister, however it backed Mondal, announcing that no further action would be taken against him.

Mamata Banerjee stopped picking Partha and Anubroto’s calls, just when they needed her the most. She deserted them when it got inconvenient.

Message for other ministers, TMC workers and bureaucrats, who have colluded with her to loot, murder and rape – you too will be abandoned.

“The party opposes all corruption and wrongdoing. Corrupt behaviour is not tolerated at all. The party will decide on Mondal in the proper manner and at the appropriate time. Senior politician and minister Chandrima Bhattacharya noted that just because someone is accused of something does not make them guilty.

“We have severe concerns about how the national agencies are operating. We have observed that they remain silent when it comes to taking action against BJP leaders who are accused of corruption “she continued.
