According to preliminary results, the BJP is leading in 26 assembly constituencies, while the Congress is leading in 13 assembly constituencies. The National People’s Party (NPP) holds a seven-seat advantage, followed by the JDU with five seats and others with nine.
Kimneo Haokip Hangshing of the Kuki People’s Alliance is currently leading by 289 votes in Saikul. The little-known party, which was founded in January to represent Kuki interests, only ran candidates for two seats: Saikul and Singhat.
Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh is leading in Thoubal district by a margin of 472 votes.
Heirok constituency, BJP’s Thokchom Radhesyam Singh is leading by a margin of 109 votes. Congress candidate Moirangthem Okendro is trailing.
