Manipur Landslide Search Operation Will Officially “Call Off” By Wednesday
The toll of death rises to 56 with one more body of a local woman was recovered on Sunday, 5 still missing, and 18 people were rescued alive. However, the search may end on Wednesday 20 July. As it has been a three-week long search.
Massive landslide at Makhuam (Marangching) village in Noney district will continue till Tuesday evening and potentially end the search operation on Wednesday. Minister Awangbow Newmai says the search operation to trace the remaining missing bodies at the landslide-affected site at Makhuam will be till Tuesday.
“We have decided to call off the search operations officially by Wednesday (today) evening. But a final decision will be taken after consultation with the CM,”. Manipur Relief and Disaster Management Minister Awangbow Newmai, after reviewing the ongoing search operation by multiple agencies at a meeting held at Noney Deputy Commissioner’s office, said on Tuesday.
