Meghalaya: Heavy Rainfall wracked havoc killing 3 including 1 minors, Baghmara
It has been a harrowing week for the state Of Meghalaya as incessant rainfall has caused flooding and landslides in several places. This has resulted in five deaths including four minors on Thursday.
The weeks of downpours in Meghalaya resulted in landslides in several places including South Garo Hills Baghmara, where three people were killed after a family was engulfed beneath the earth.
The heartwrenching video shows that the bodies of the family have been removed with the help of locals and a crawler.
The incident took place early this morning (Friday, June 17), the deceased family was identified as Gamchi Ch. Sangma (mother), 5-year-old son Miangkim Ch. Sangma, and Tengkam A. Sangma (father) and they were the residents of Baghmara.
Another tragedy occurred when mud and debris from a landslide washed away a woman named Heal Sentimerry Myrthong (24) and her house in Jashiar hamlet in the South West Khasi Hills (about 10 km from Mawkyrwat). She died unexpectedly on the spot. Locals scooped out the deceased body and took her to Mawkyrwat CHC, where she was confirmed dead.
