Meghalaya: Sanjay Sangma of the NPP from Mahendraganj defeats Dikkanchi D Shira of TMC
Dikkanchi Shira, a Mahendraganj candidate for the AITC, lost to Sanjay Sangma, a competing NPP candidate, by a margin of 1718. Sanjay Sangma defeated the following candidates:

The South West Garo Hills district includes the Mahendraganj Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in Meghalaya. The Election Commission of India's statistics indicates that the voters in Meghalaya cast a divided vote in the state assembly elections held on February 27.
The Election Commission reported on Thursday that Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, has defeated BJP candidate Bernard Marak and won the South Tura constituency with 10,090 votes.
In Tikrilla, Jimmy D. Sangma of the National People's Party (NPP) prevailed over Mukul Sangma by a margin of 5,313 votes. In Songsak, Mukul Sangma, who joined other leaders in switching from the Congress to the TMC in 2021, defeated Nihim D. Shira of the NPP by a slim margin of 359 votes.
