Missouri woman charged with animal cruelty after she left her dogs inside the car by themselves
A woman from Missouri was charged with four counts of animal cruelty, as she left her four dogs to die inside her vehicle of their own on Thursday while visiting Florida, according to officials.
A woman identified as Tesia White was arrested in New Smyrna Beach, Florida after authorities received a 911 call and alerted four dogs trapped inside the vehicle. Officers were notified that the car was on with the air conditioning running and the windows were shut while White was eating lunch at a nearby restaurant.
“We have four dogs on the side that were, they accidentally turned the air conditioning off in the car, and they were trapped in a hot car, and now they’re all laying on the side, and none of them are moving, and they’re all like foaming from the mouth,” the caller said, according to news reports by FOX 35.
Police stated that the temperature outside was about 85 degrees, which, the American Veterinary Association says can result in cars reaching temperatures of about 130 degrees.
According to the police report, she left a 4-year-old Goldendoodle, 2-year-old Boxer, and two 12-week-old Goldendoodle puppies in the car.
She was charged with four counts of animal cruelty over her four dead dogs by her negligence and was taken to the Volusia County jail with a $10,000 bond. A judge said Friday during White’s arraignment that she was not allowed to own any animals while the case moves forward. A judge declared strict rules to the White for her neglected action over her pets.
