Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh Suspended

The Maharashtra government suspended former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on Thursday. The Maharashtra DGP has been given orders to serve the suspension on Parambir and another DCP level officer. Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister, cleared the file for Singh’s suspension after returning from a three-week hospitalization.

Following the seizure of explosives near Antilia and the murder of Thane businessman Mansukh Hiren, Singh is facing a flurry of FIRs in Mumbai and its satellite towns.

In this case, senior police inspector Pradeep Sharma and assistant police inspector Sachin Waze were detained, and Param Bir Singh claimed that the government and Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had asked to make a Rs 100 crore collection.
