Nation mourns the loss of martyrs on the 14th anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks
This horrific day brought to mind the innumerable atrocities that were committed against humanity.
The nation paid homage to the martyrs on Saturday who gave their lives in the line of duty in order to thwart the terrorist attack on the metropolis that took place on this day fourteen years prior. When we think back on 26/11, our hearts tremble since many individuals lost loved ones that day, and this day will forever haunt all Indians. This horrific day brought to mind the innumerable atrocities that were committed against humanity.
The governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, and the chief minister, Eknath Shinde, paid floral homage to the martyrs on Saturday who gave their lives in the struggle against the terrorists who had assaulted the city 14 years ago.
At the martyrs' memorial, which is located on the grounds of the Police Commissioner Office in south Mumbai, they paid their respects. Devendra Fadnavis, Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Chief Secretary Manu Kumar Srivastava, State Director General of Police (DGP) Rajnish Seth, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, and other officials were present.
Meanwhile, tributes were given to the martyrs by the families of the cops who died during the attacks in November 2008.

On November 26, 2008, ten Pakistani terrorists travelling by sea arrived and began shooting randomly at the public, killing 166 people—including 18 security personnel—and wounded many more. They also caused millions worth of property damage.
Among those slain in the incident were Hemant Karkare, the former head of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Army Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Additional Police Commissioner Ashok Kamte of Mumbai, and Senior Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar. On November 26, the onslaught started, and it continued through November 29. The attackers attacked a number of locations, including the Jewish community centre Nariman House, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, the Leopold Cafe, and the Cama Hospital.
The only terrorist who was arrested alive was Ajmal Kasab. Four years later, on November 21, 2012, he was hanged.
