In an order issued today, the Bombay High Court stated that there is no evidence of a drug-related conspiracy involving Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha. According to the Court, there was nothing inappropriate in their WhatsApp talks.
“There is hardly any positive evidence on record to persuade this Court that all of the accused parties conspired to commit an unlawful act,” the order stated.
“Merely because Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were on the same cruise cannot constitute a foundation for the claim of conspiracy against them,” the court noted in explaining why the bail was granted.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) cannot rely on the claimed confessional statements recorded by the investigating officer since they are not binding, according to the High Court judgment.
Three weeks after his detention in the drugs-on-cruise case, Aryan Khan, the son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was given bail, bail was also granted to Aryan Khan’s friends Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha. He was apprehended on October 3rd, only hours after the NCB conducted drug searches on a cruise ship party. Bail was denied twice for the celebrity son.
