The Punjab government’s finance department has instructed its employees to update their Covid-19 immunization status on the Integrated Human Resource Management System (iHRMS) portal, failing which they will not be paid.
The immunization certificates must be uploaded to the HRMS website, which stands for Integrated Human Resource Management System, run by the Punjab government. The software automates the payment of salaries and the withdrawal of retirement benefits.
Punjab’s relatively stringent policy of forcing individuals to vaccinate themselves comes at a time when the Omicron strain of coronavirus, which is known to be highly transmissible, is causing widespread alarm.
