NPP President Challenge Ampareen Lyngdoh to File Complaint; Meghalaya
WR Kharlukhi, the state president of the National People’s Party (NPP), has challenged Congress leader Ampareen Lyngdoh to file a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) if she has any evidence that the NPP used money power to win the three by-elections.
The opposition Congress has accused the National People’s Party (NPP) of poaching its leaders in preparation for the October 30 by-elections in Mawphlang and Mawryngkneng.
Lyngdoh had previously claimed that the cash-rich NPP was rigging the byelections.
According to her, the NPP urged Marboh to run as an independent candidate from Mawryngkneng in order to split the vote.
“She can go to the Election Commission with proof if she has it.” “No one can prevent her from filing a complaint with the Election Commission,” said Kharlukhi, a Rajya Sabha member.
He stated that if the Congress leader’s accusation is true, the EC will undoubtedly take action.
“As per our evaluation, we have an edge,” a confident Kharlukhi said of the NPP’s by-poll readiness (over others). “All three seats will be ours.”
He claimed that the party’s election campaign is picking up momentum, and that the party’s leaders are reaching out to people in all three constituencies. The Congress has bases in Rajabala and Mawryngkneng, but Kharlukhi says politics is dynamic and the equation changes all the time.
