‘Opponent critics turned into admirers’: Swara Bhasker’s ‘thank you’ message for Uddhav Thackeray
After abruptly announcing his resignation in the middle of a Facebook Live speech on Wednesday, Maharashtra’s departing chief minister Uddhav Thackeray received appreciation from Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar. Swara Bhasker praised Uddhav Thackeray for his work during the Covid-19 outbreak and claimed that under his leadership, opponents like her had become supporters. The Bollywood actor wrote, “Go long and go strong.”
Among the prominent figures in entertainment who denounced the horsetrading in Maharashtra was the Bollywood actor. “Why even cast ballots? every five years, replace elections with “bumper sales,” “The actor had called the course of events a “s***show” in a tweet. The actor received backlash for the remark and was informed that the Shiv Sena had contested the election alongside the BJP before breaking with its longtime ally and forming a new coalition with the Congress and the NCP for the position of chief minister.
“I appreciate your leadership. During the COVID-19 situation, you were a fair and accountable state leader who was also transparent, reassuring, and communicative. Your actions converted haters like me into admirers. Maha Adm’s work under your direction has been excellent. Go far and go well, “The message from Swara Bhasker was read.
