In Karnataka, Chaitra, a 26-year-old bride, fainted while posing for photos and greeting guests on stage with the groom on her wedding day. Doctors at NIMHNS proclaimed her ‘brain dead’ after her parents brought her there. The incident occurred in the Kolar district’s Srinivaspur. The parents of a Karnataka girl who fell on stage at her wedding reception and was subsequently confirmed brain dead have donated her organs, a gesture praised by the state’s Health Minister, K. Sudhakar.
Chaitra’s parents, shocked by the news, decided to give their daughter’s organs later. “It was a very momentous day for Chaitra,” Sudhakar added, praising Chaitra’s parents’ good deed. Destiny, on the other hand, had a different idea. Her parents have decided to donate her organs despite the heartbreaking event. Many lives will be saved as a result of this act of kindness. In the history of NIMHANS, this is the first organ retrieval.”
