In India, the Omicron threat is on the rise, with over 57 cases reported in Delhi, followed by 54 cases in Maharastra. PM Narendra Modi will convene a high-level conference today to assess the pandemic situation and take steps to combat the fast-spreading new variant Omicron, which has emerged as a new global menace.
So far, 213 instances of the Omicron form of coronavirus have been reported in the country, according to the Ministry. With 57 verified instances, Delhi topped the list, followed by Maharashtra (54 incidents), and Telangana (24 cases).
