PM's Roadshow in Shillong "for the first time in the history...": Ernest Mawrie

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at a road show in Police Bazaar on Friday as part of the BJP's final effort to influence the elections in Meghalaya on February 27.

In a statement to the media on Wednesday, BJP state president Ernest Mawrie stated, "The Prime Minister of the country will undertake a road show for the first time in history. As he is not only the Prime Minister of India, but also a prominent figure on the international stage, I believe that all citizens, especially those who live in Shillong, would wish to see and hear him speak.

According to Mawrie, the Prime Minister would land at the Upper Shillong Helipad and proceed to Jhalupara Point before arriving at the State Central Library to present floral tributes to the state's three freedom fighters, U Tirot Sing, U Kiang Nangbah, and Pa Togan Sangma.
Next he will give a speech at Police Bazaar.
He said that the program's timing, from 11 am to 1: 30 pm, was carefully designed to avoid disrupting residents, including students.

The BJP legislator from Pynthorumkhrah AL Hek added to the State President's remarks by saying that the Prime Minister has stated that there shouldn't be any obstacles for school and college students. Hek stated, "He (Modi) said by the time he arrives to Shillong, all of the children will be in the classroom, and the instant he leaves, the school will be over. This demonstrates the positive intentions of our PM for the convenience of the public and the people.
