According to the post-mortem report, actor and BJP politician Sonali Phogat had “several blunt force injuries” throughout her body. Following the post-mortem report, the Goa Police on Thursday filed a murder charge against two friends. The 42-year-old leader’s death was investigated under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to a senior police officer who spoke with news agency PTI, Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Singh, who had travelled with Phogat when she arrived in Goa on August 22, were identified as defendants in the case.
At the Anjuna Police Station on Wednesday, Phogat’s brother Rinku Dhaka lodged a case against the two men. At the Goa Medical College and Hospital on Thursday, an autopsy was performed on Phogat’s body.
Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, announced that Chandigarh and Goa will both conduct an examination of Phogat’s viscera.
“In response to her brother’s complaint, we have initiated a case. Two days after Phogat’s passing, a police officer stated that the enquiry was under progress.
