Delhi Man’s 77 Page Suicide Note: Strangled Mother, Read Gita, Sprinkle Ganga Jal

In Budh Vihar, Delhi, a 25-year-old man allegedly killed his mother and sat with her body for three days before taking his own life.

According to the authorities, the man, Kshitij, wrote a 77-page suicide note in which he described his fight with depression as well as the circumstances surrounding the murder of his mother. On Thursday, Kshitij allegedly slashed his mother Mithilesh’s throat and strangled her. He had lost his father ten years prior.

According to police, quoting the note, he stayed with his mother’s body for three days and used deodorant to conceal the foul odor. The note also mentioned that he had been lonely and had no friends since he was a child. As a result of his father’s death, he stated his mother didn’t provide him with money and both he and his mother suffered from a disease.”

He said in the note that his mother had been through a lot, and that he wanted to free her.

In his writings, Kshitij described strangling his mother with a chain for the first time. After 10 minutes, he slit her throat, believing that “if a person is strangled his soul will not achieve salvation”, the police said. According to the report, he read a chapter from the Bhagavad Gita and sprinkled Ganga Jal on his mother’s body to ensure her salvation.

According to the suicide note, Kshitij had been despondent for some time and couldn’t afford to pay for his mother’s and his own medical expenses because he was jobless. Shri Niwas, Kshitij’s father, was a former government employee. The mother and son had relied on his monthly stipend after his death, according to the authorities.
