Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised musician Vishal Dadlani for speaking up for Indian Muslims amid the continuing controversy over former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s statements on Prophet Muhammad.
“On behalf of the majority of Indian Hindus, I’d like to say this to Indian Muslims. You’ve been seen and heard, and you’ve been loved and cherished. Your anguish is our anguish. Your loyalty is unquestionable, and your identity poses no threat to India or any other religion. We are an one nation and a single family.”
In response to Vishal’s tweet on behalf of Indian Muslims. Shashi Tharoor reacted to Dadlani’s tweets by saying he agrees with his sentiments and complimented the musician for speaking up and supporting them.
Vishal Dadlani encouraged all Indians to not let those who seek to divide us to succeed.
“This is something I’d like to say to all Indians. I’m sincerely sad for Indian politics’ terrible character, which will joyfully separate us into smaller and smaller groups until we’re all alone “he stated
This is not the first time Vishal Dadlani has stood up for minorities; he was also at the forefront during the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rallies and the Delhi riots of 2020.
Meanwhile, in the wake of outcry over the BJP’s now-sacked two leaders’ provocative remarks about Prophet Mohammad, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said it was past time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak up.
