India’s one of the youngest mountaineers Rhythm Mamania a 10-year-old skater from Mumbai climbed the Everest base camp, a trek which she completed in 11 days.
Rhythm, is a student of class 5 from MET Rishikul Vidyalaya in suburban Bandra, has reached the Everest base camp on May 6 at around 1 pm the base camp is situated at 5,364 meters and it took 11 days to complete the expedition, her mother told in an interview with PTI on Sunday. During the trek her parents, Harshal and Urmi accompanied her the entire month.
Since the age of 5, she love scaling mountains the very first trek was 21km Dudhsagar since then she climbs peaks in Sahyadri ranges like Mahuli, Sondai, Karnala, and Lohagad.
“After reaching the base camp, other members of the group decided to take the helicopter on the way back, but Rhythm insisted that she would walk down. And hence four of us decided to descend it,” Urmi said.
