According to Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov, Russian armed forces have hit Ukrainian military targets with air and sea-based cruise missiles.
“During the night, Russian armed forces carried out a long-range precision hit against Ukrainian military infrastructure sites using air and sea-based cruise missiles,” Konashenkov stated, according to Xinhua news agency, quoting the Russian Defense Ministry.
“I’d like to stress once more that only military installations are targeted; no harm is done to residential or social infrastructure,” he continued.
Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a “special military operation” in Donbass on Thursday, and Ukraine confirmed that military stations across the country were being attacked.
However, many videos have surfaced on social media showing huge apartment complexes on fire.
