S Jaishankar Visits Israel For Cementing The Ties Between Israel and India .
External affairs minister S Jaishankar is visiting Israel for three days With an eye towards cementing diplomatic and political ties . As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has restricted travel due to Covid pandemic and domestic commitments, it has been left to Jaishankar and Doval to connect with close allies on a constant basis. The focus of Indian diplomacy at present is also to directly connect with countries, which have been missed by the previous regimes like Mexico, Greece, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan apart from small nation states.
This is India’s first high-level engagement with the Naftali Bennett government in Jerusalem , India enjoyed an unprecedented relationship with former PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and this visits shows a future tie between Israel and India .
Ushpiz said, while no one in the Quad had approached Israel, they would like to engage with “anyone” on the Quad focus areas of vaccines, emerging tech, climate change and security . “We will be happy to join any conversation in these areas I will be very happy to deepen our cooperation with India on all these issues. But no one from the Quad has knocked on our doors.
Israel wants India to play a greater role in the emerging strategic landscape in the middle east , with its own transformed relationship with the Arab world . Israel is more keen on technological development , healthcare and communications .
