Sanjay Raut’s arrest brought up protests, disruptions in Parliament again

Following last week’s commotion, both houses of Parliament’s activities were interrupted again on Monday. Discussions on the rising cost of necessities, which has affected the average person, were anticipated, but the houses were briefly postponed due to opposition MPs’ chanting.

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions were suspended till 2 o’clock shortly after the day’s business began. The turmoil and sloganeering persisted even after the meetings were resumed. The Lok Sabha has now been suspended until 2:00 p.m.

Shiv Sena members protested Raut’s detention in Rajya Sabha just after the start of the new week of monsoon session, according to news agency PTI. The top Sena official, 60, who is also a Rajya Sabha member, was detained on Sunday night at midnight following hours of raids and questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case.
