Shanghai, a 25 million-person city, recorded 28 new local cases on October 10, according to authorities, who noted that it was the fourth day of double-digit increases. 2,089 new local infections were reported across the country, the most since August 20.
While the majority of the cases have been discovered in tourist hotspots, including picturesque locations in Inner Mongolia’s northern area, megacities that are frequently the source of wealthy and well-traveled travellers began to report more instances this week. Shanghai travellers should be subject to more scrutiny, as should hotels and other establishments, according to municipal officials.
