Indrani Mukherjee, the jailed former media executive convicted of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012, has written to the CBI saying that Sheena Bora is alive and requesting an investigation, bringing a fresh twist to the already-controversial case.
According to sources, Indrani Mukherjee alleges she encountered a female prisoner who told her she had met Sheena Bora in Kashmir, citing a letter submitted straight to the CBI. “She wrote to the CBI, but we don’t know what she wrote,” Sana Khan, her lawyer, said, adding that she will file a formal bail plea.
Since 2015, Indrani Mukherjea, 49, has been imprisoned in Mumbai. She was arrested for the murder of Sheena Bora, her first marriage’s daughter, who was 25 years old.
Sheena Bora was allegedly murdered by Indrani Mukerjea, who was assisted by her driver Shyamvar Rai and her second husband Sanjeev Khanna, according to investigators.
According to authorities, Indrani killed Sheena because she was infuriated by her relationship with Rahul Mukerjea, Peter Mukerjea’s son from a previous marriage.
