On Saturday, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope stated that the peak of the Covid-19 third wave has passed in the state, with Covid-19 instances decreasing in the worst-affected cities of Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar.
“Yes, I believe the third wave’s peak has passed because COVID-19 instances are declining in areas such as Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar, where the situation was the worst during the last COVID-19 pandemic wave. Although the instances are still increasing in several parts of Maharashtra, “ANI quoted Tope as saying.
He went on to say that while incidences are increasing in some cities, it is not a cause for concern. “However, the number of infected persons is still rising in cities like Nashik, Nagpur, Pune, and Aurangabad,” the Health Minister said, adding that “there is no reason to fear even in these regions because infected people are getting treated in 5 to 7 days with easy treatment and medicines.”
