Ukraine: Russia Destroys NATO, US Weapons; Putin Rains Down Kalibr Missiles
From its Black Sea fleet, Russia launched four Kalibr cruise missiles against Ukraine. Putin’s forces claim to have demolished a foreign weapon ammunition storage in Ukraine. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a Ukrainian ammunition storage in Lviv housed weaponry from NATO countries, including M-777 howitzers built in the United States. The Kalibr cruise missiles have been utilized frequently by Russia to target Ukrainian military targets.
“An ammunition stockpile of foreign weapons provided to Ukraine by NATO nations, including 155-mm M777 howitzers, was destroyed near the town of Zolochiv in the Lviv area by high-precision long-range Kalibr missiles,” the defence ministry said in a statement.
Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former president, said earlier on Wednesday that Ukraine may cease to exist in the next two years.
“I noticed a news that Ukraine wants to acquire LNG (liquefied natural gas) from its abroad masters under a lend-lease deal with payment due in two years,” Medvedev, who is currently the Security Council’s vice chairman, said on Telegram.
“And who claimed Ukraine would even exist on the world map in two years?” questioned a close Putin ally.
